Why you should see it: Set against the backdrop of the civil war in 1990's Sierra Leone, Blood Diamond is the story of Danny Archer (DiCaprio), a South African mercenary, and Solomon Vandy (Hounsou), a Mende fisherman. With the help of Connelly as an American journalist, the two very different men set out on an adventure through rebel territory to find a rare pink diamond that could transform their lives. Legends Of The Falls director, Edward Zwick, directs this thriller.
Box-office bottom line: This is another opportunity for Zwick to show off his enormous talent for storytelling, and DiCaprio, Hounsou and Connelly are just the actors to due him justice.
