Why you should see it: Alvin, Simon, Theodore! You know the cartoon. And now you are probably hearing their Christmas song that contains catchy lines like, "I still want a HU-la hoop." Curbing your appetite for kids' films may prove too difficult, and Alvin and the Chipmunks will be one of the only cures. Not the most promising film this season, but the lack of other options during December will give you fewer choices than Christmases past.
Box-office bottom line: After the disappointment of Underdog, Jason Lee may not have the power to help the studio break even.
