The Tribeca Film Festival is taking over in funkiness, where the Sundance Film Festival no longer dares to tread. That annual Sundance gathering in frigid Utah used to be the movie world's big event for fun fashion and casual celebrity appearances, but over the years has it's migrated from flannel to Prada. Now in its fifth year, the Tribeca Film Festival has branched out and taken the whole city by storm ‑- it used to be held in just downtown New York to benefit areas devastated by 9/11. This time around, there were screenings uptown and all around, and celebrities were everywhere ‑- putting the whole city on orange alert for Tom Cruise sightings; the new papa made the festival one of the premieres of Mission: Impossible III.
