It's a day at the beach for 12 bikini babes.

Premieres: Wednesday, January 5 at 8pm ET
When to catch it: Wednesdays at 8pm ET on NBC
Starring: Judges Roshumba Williams, NEXT Model Management President Joel Wilkenfeld and Sports Illustrated swimsuit editor Jule Campbell, and 12 finalists
Finale: February
In a nutshell: As if the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition isn't enough, now NBC and SI are launching a nationwide search for the next big swimsuit model. Guys everywhere will tune in to watch as 12 finalists live together in Los Angeles and compete for a chance to appear in SI's swimsuit issue, plus win a $1 million modeling contract. (Ladies will watch too ‑- if for nothing else than to make fun of the underfed mannequins.) The last two contestants standing will fly to an exotic locale to shoot a photo spread; then viewers vote for a winner. Which model do you think will win? How does this series compare to America's Next Top Model? Do you think these types of shows are degrading, or do they not bother you? Talk about the SI Swimsuit Model Search here...

Update: Alicia was declared the winner. Feel free to continue chatting here, or visit our Reality TV main page and find out about all the hottest shows that are on right now.

Who do we continue to disrespect our women?
First of all, let me state that I am a 45 year-old man and that not only women are offended by this. I have two daughters (12 and 15 years old) and I see every day how hard it is for young girls today to build a self-esteem that is NOT related to looks. It seems like women cannot have dignity on this Earth. Women continue to struggle to be respected and they still have a long way to go all over the world. The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition is a disgusting product. Sports Illustrated makes money by exploiting women's sexuality. The women that pose on this magazine are air heads without any social conscience. They are irresponsible and the living proof of greediness. What would one do for money? Sports Illustrated displays women as sexual products. How different is this magazine from a pornogaphy magazine? There is no difference in my eyes. All I see is one irresponsible corportation that is corputing the world. Why do we promote such demeaning values? This TV show and magazine and all related media coverage is as wrong as war and discrimination. I say let's give our women the respect that they deserve. Let's end these stereotypes that make women feel like they have to look a certain way to be successful. Start with your wives, girlfriends and daughters. Let them know how beautiful they are for the people that they are and for the positive things that they bring into the world.
