Ric Ocasek and Paulina Porizkova

Birth Dates: His: March 23, 1949, Hers: April 9, 1965

Age Difference: 16 years

Their Story: There's John Cougar Mellencamp and Elaine Irwin. There was Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley. But before them all, there was Ric and Paulina -- the original unpretty rock star/stunning model couple. Born in Czechoslovakia, Porizkova was discovered by an Elite model scout in her teens and has been on countless magazine covers since. Although she has always been extremely vocal about her hatred for the modeling industry, she was the spokesmodel for Estee Lauder and was named as one of People's 50 Most Beautiful People in 1990. She also gave acting a try, most notably alongside Tom Selleck in Her Alibi, for which she won the not-so-coveted Razzie Award for Worst Actress. She met Ocasek in 1984, the lead singer for pop band The Cars, on the set of his music video for "Drive." It was, quite understandably, love at first site for the tall, dark singer. Porizkova even claims that her crush on the front man had begun years earlier when she saw him on TV.

Their Nuptials: The towering duo tied the knot five years after they met on August 23, 1989 and have since lived in New York City with their children. Paulina has said that the secret to their long-lasting relationship is simple: "to stay together physically as much as possible." In an effort to accomplish this, she turned down the role as the Bond girl in Goldeneye.

Their Offspring: After they married, Porizkova became the stepmother to Ocasek's four sons from a previous relationship. The couple has since added to two more sons to their family, Jonathan Raven (December 1993) and Oliver Orion (May 1998).

What They Have to Say: Says the supermodel: "Meeting Ric was a teen's wet dream."
