Grade-Schooler Extras

by Jeffrey Wells and Jett Wells

Jeff says: Dozens of guys get shot or beat up in Robocop, but it's about a moral, caring guy trying to do the right thing. The Incredibles is a great family film that's full of poignant observations about who Dad, Mom and the kids really are deep down. Spartacus has a lot of talk, but it's colorful and eye-filling and draws some clear moral lines.

Jett says: It's inevitable that kids of all ages are going to like moronic computer-generated films, but they have a choice between the good ones and the bad ones. The Matrix was sparked by old martial arts films, and it wasn't exactly "believable," but it was euphorically creative. It also had moral fiber, which every film should have. Kids learning their times-tables couldn't care less about morals, but parents shouldn't stop trying.
