Emmy Dreams

by By Sarah McLaughlin

Like most young girls, I've always dreamed of winning an Emmy. I know exactly who I'd wear (Vera Wang), who I'd thank (Vera Wang) and on whose talk show I'd tell my exclusive story (Letterman, where I'd talk about my new best friend, Vera Wang). Since college, I've been a coffee-making, script-delivering, crap-taking Hollywood lackey, and I never imagined I could get close to such a dream. But now here I am: For the last two years I've been a writer on Fox's That '70s Show. Toiling away on little bits of other people's scripts isn't as glamorous as it might seem, but after 10 episodes I finally scored my first whole show! Maybe I'll nab that Emmy after all.
